The École Normale Supérieure is placed under the control and authority of a Management Board whose members are appointed by the institution or body they represent. This council is the highest decision-making body of the institution.

Appointment of members
Members of the Management Board shall be appointed by the institution or organization they represent.
Decision-making
Decisions of the Management Board shall be taken at the absolute majority Members present or represented.
Quorum required
The Management Board may only deliberate if the majority of its members is present or represented.
Council Secretariat
Administrative organization
The Secretariat of the Management Board is provided by the Director of the École Normale Supérieure (ENS). He is responsible for the preparation of the files, the convening of members, the drafting of minutes and the follow-up of decisions taken.
